The name Shablast is a derivative of Daoul’s middle name which is actually Shabazz
Shablast started spinning records at the age of eleven, playing at house parties blending excerpts of Eddie Murphy’s Raw concert audio with hip hop instrumentals. His mastery of blending sounds together garnered him local and eventually statewide recognition as the must-have D.J. for various social events.
Inspiration to continually raise his level of musical knowledge comes from the likes of Michael Jackson, Run DMC, DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, Kid Capri, DJ Grand Master Flash and DJ Kool.
