Crunchy Ramen Burger

This recipe uses a simple packet of ramen and some fresh veggies to create an impressive burger that your family will ask for again and again!

Ingredients

Patties:

  • 2 Pounds 80% lean ground beef
  • 2 Teaspoons granulated garlic
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 1 Teaspoon pepper

Sauce:

  • 1 Cup soy sauce
  • ¼ Cup sesame oil
  • ¼ Cup Thai chili sauce

Other:

  • 6 Sesame seed buns
  • 2 Packages beef instant ramen
  • 2 Bundles bok choy
  • 5 Red Fresno peppers
  • 4 Tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 Bundles green onions, diced
  • 3 Cups lettuce, shredded
  • 1 Block of cream cheese, softened
  • 2 Tablespoons canola oil

Instructions

  1. Heat grill to medium high heat
  2. Combine patty ingredients and form into 6 evenly sized burgers
  3. Boil ramen until soft
  4. Drain and drizzle with oil, make sure that all of the noodles are coated
  5. Save the ramen packets
  6. Roughly chop bok choy
  7. Finely slice red Fresno peppers
  8. Heat wok or medium sized pot over grill or stove, medium high heat
  9. Lightly oil the pan and add the bok choy, peppers, ginger and onions
  10. Stir occasionally and cook down until bok choy is soft
  11. Blend cream cheese with seasoning packets from ramen
  12. Blend sauce ingredients
  13. Heat canola oil in saucepan to 325 degrees and drop small handfuls of cooked ramen into oil
  14. Allow to cook for 30 seconds
  15. Using metal tongs, form ramen into a circular shape that matches the size of your buns and burgers
  16. Fry until crunchy and place on paper towels to drain
  17. Grill burgers for approximately 7 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature is 165 degrees
  18. Butter buns and grill or fry until crispy
  19. Spread cream cheese mixture on bottom bun and top with shredded lettuce, burger, fried vegetables, sauce, fried ramen bundle and top bun
  20. Serve with glass of Sutter Home Pinot Grigio
