Ingredients
3 Cups Seal the Seasons NY Tart Cherries
3 Tbsp olive oil
2 Cloves garlic, minced
1 Onion, diced
1 1/2 Cups ketchup
2/3 Cup brown sugar
1/4 Cup apple cider vinegar
3 Tbsp. water
2 Tbsp. ground mustard
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 Tsp. cayenne pepper
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Thaw and drain Seal the Seasons frozen cherries.
- Heat olive oil in sauce pan and saute onion and garlic over medium heat until soft and fragrant.
- Add the ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, whiskey, water, ground mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper. Stir and bring mixture to a simmer.
- Add the cherries and salt and pepper to taste. Continue to cook over low heat for 20 minutes, or until sauce thickens.
- Once thickened, remove sauce from heat and puree in food processor until smooth.
- Let cool and enjoy!
